I love this time of year, when you start thinking about the holidays. Thanksgiving makes way to Christmas, which I adore. I love it all, the shopping, the decorating, the baking. Cozy nights with the lights turned down and the tree lit up, surrounded by the loves of my life. The chaos of Christmas morning, bits of paper and the kids begging to have everything out of boxes and into their hands. Love it!

ReplyDeleteIf I won the gift card it would definitely be going to help pay for those Santa gifts. Money is tight so a few extra gifts under the tree would be awesome to help boost our Christmas morning for the kids.
ReplyDeleteOur favorite holiday tradition is something we started back in 2008 after losing a baby. We decided to take the kids to the movies on Christmas day and it has become something we do every year. Hey, come to think of it that might be better use of the gift card is to pay for our movie tradition. Everyone looks forward to it because we go to the movies so rarely.

ReplyDeletey favorite holiday tradition? Lighting the candles with my family and singing Channukah songs until we don't know any more. It usually takes a few hours to get to that point, and usualy inovlves switching languages halfway through M'otzur a few times. :)

As for the gift card, my childrens school put together little christmas packages for those that can't afford a chrsitmas, and send them to them. These packages include essentials like toothbrush, soap, shampoo etc but also colouring in pencils, books to colour and read, a special toy or two and...chocolate because everyone deserves a bit of chocolate on Christmas.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is putting together stocking stuffers. We usually buy gifts that cost around a dollar or so. Then we stuff the stockings full. Sometimes they are funny gifts like soap or fake lottery tickets.
